Under the banner of popcorn flicks; Amit R Agarwal successfully co-produces and line produces the movies. The next step was film-making. His diploma film at AAFT, Noida is the only film in the institute’s history to win a dual honor of Best Director and Best Film Award from Subhash Ghai.

He attended a playwrights’ workshop organized by Barry John's Theatre Action Group and conducted by eminent playwright Mahesh Dattani at India Habitat Centre. His play-script The Bald & The Beautiful was adjudged the 2nd best script at the workshop.

He freelanced for premier entertainment companies like TV –18 and Nimbus.

He has worked with main-stream actors like Rajesh Khanna, Dino Morea, Sanjay Suri, Govind Namdeo, Alok Nath, Suman Ranganathan, Mahima Chaudhry, Shwetha Menon, Nethra Raghuraman, etc.

He has written, directed and co-produced over 100 shorts, documentaries, AV’s, ad-films and music videos.

Making indie-films is his forte, other than that, he is writing feature films for reputed banners to be directed by reputed directors.


2010 will see Agarwal taking concrete steps to set up popcorn flicks' mainstream - popcorn flicks' mainstream film-production arm!
